Our mission is to empower and support women and girls affected by traumatic experiences – regardless of their political, ethnic or religious affiliation

Mission & Vision

  • To strengthen the legal, health and psychosocial situation of migrants and their families in Germany
  • To promote the social and professional integration of migrant women in Germany
  • To promote assistance for politically, racially, or religiously persecuted women, for refugee women, for female displaced persons and victims of war in Afghanistan and other countries
  • To promote the international spirit, tolerance in all areas of culture and the idea of international understanding
  • Initiates coordinate and supports projects in Afghanistan that are suitable for promoting the health, legal and psychosocial situation of women and girls who are affected or threatened by (sexualized) violence

Hami e.V. works with a holistic approach. We offer women support with psychosocial, medical, legal and career-related issues.

The structure of Hami e.V.

Hami e.V. was founded in December 2023 by 30 strong Afghan women activists with various professional backgrounds such as legal experts, health professionals, psychologists, psychosocial experts, social workers, leaders, and managers. 

The board consists of the following nine women:

Chairwoman

Lawyer and women activist with 20 years expereince on women access to justice and advocacy.

Wahida Mohammadzai
Chairwoman

A medical doctor and women’s rights activist with over 17 years of experience in the fields of women’s rights leadership and management.

Basira Akbarzada
Finance person

Psychiologist, trained social worker and women’s activist with 8 years of experience in the psychosocial, gender based violence and administratie fields.

L. Vida Faizi
Assessor

Trauma and psychosocial expert and master trainer with 20 years of expereince in the filed of women’s rights, psychosocial and advocacy.

Yalda Ahmad
Assessor

A women’s rights activist and professional psychologist with over 16 years of experience in the field of trauma sensitive and psychosocial.

Arezu Rezayee
Assessor

Master of Private Law and women activist with 10 years of experience of women access to justice and advocacy.

Farzana Rasoli
Assessor

Bachelor of Public Health with the aim to support and promote Women Empowerment in the world.

Mariam Zalmai Hanafi
Assessor

A lawyer and women’s rights activist with 12 years of experience committed to work for women’s rights and advocates women’s rights.
